Cour-Cheverny, Loire Valley, France
The Gendrier family has been farming since the 1840's, and focus on various cuvées featuring the alluring Romorantan grape since the 1920's. This is the flagship wine of the Domaine des Huards estate, all bydonamically farmed, fermented with native yeast in stainless steel and aged on its fine lees for 8 months before bottling unfiltered. Definitely one for the acid freaks out there, showing orange punch in the nose, pineapple and passionfruit on the palate, and a tornado of minerality that leaves a long-lasting impression on all the senses. Rambunctious yet clean, and one of the most fascinating and ageable grapes in all of France.
