Some wines both confound and challenge our understanding of wine, and this is certainly one of those. Deep-toned purple in the glass, with earth and spice aromas that all provide signals that this will be a weighty drink. But the first sip reveals delicacy, energy and purity followed by a finish that makes the wine feel completely weightless. Just wow. Easily the most compelling and riddling wine we've tasted in recent memory.
