The story
Native to Corsica and long cultivated in the south around Sartène and Ajaccio. Plantings shrank to very small areas but the grape has been revived since the 1990s. Two official French clones, 988 and 989, are recognized, and an ENTAV-INRA clone reached UC Davis Foundation Plant Services in 2004.
