The story
Microsatellite DNA work supports Caíño Branco as a natural cross of Albariño and Caíño Bravo. It is recognized as a preferred variety in Rías Baixas and was added to Ribeiro’s rulebook in 2016 after gradual reintroduction from nearby areas.
