The story
It originated in the Pyrenees vineyards of southwest France. In France plantings rose from 51 hectares in 1958 to 3,818 hectares in 2018, with most in Côtes de Gascogne and the rest mainly in Jurançon, Tursan, Irouléguy and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh.
