Article: Aseginolaza y Leunda

Aseginolaza y Leunda
We’re thrilled to feature Aseginolaza y Leunda, a rising star producer out of Navarra, Spain. Founded in 2017 by childhood friends and environmental scientists Jon Aseginolaza and Pedro Leunda, the duo is dedicated to recovering abandoned old-vine parcels and crafting pure, site-driven wines with minimal intervention. They farm organically, even letting wild herbs grow freely in their vineyards, and ferment naturally — producing wines that are vibrant, expressive, and full of the character of the region.
Navarra sits just north of Rioja, sharing many of the same key features — high altitudes, limestone soils, and old Garnacha vines — but with its own twist. The region uniquely spans Atlantic, Continental, and Mediterranean climates, giving winemakers an incredibly diverse landscape to work with. Long known for its Garnacha rosés, Navarra is now experiencing a quiet renaissance, led by producers like Aseginolaza y Leunda who are bringing new energy to old vineyards and elevating the potential of native varieties.
