Loft & Bear Distillery was founded in 2014 by Paul Ryan Elliott, who launched the brand with a vision to create a premium, small-batch vodka rooted in quality and purpose. What started in a modest loft in downtown Los Angeles has grown into one of California’s most compelling independent spirits brands. Now operating from an 8,600-square-foot facility in South LA, Loft & Bear produces award-winning vodka made from organic winter wheat and pristine California mountain spring water — distilled four times for remarkable clarity and balance. While Paul is no longer at the helm, his legacy remains embedded in the brand’s origin story and enduring values.
Now led by a passionate and experienced team, Loft & Bear continues to build on its original mission while carving out a bold, community-focused future. Head Distiller Giovanni Machorro brings over a decade of hands-on experience, creating spirits that have earned industry acclaim. Alongside him, Co-Founder Harry Martin provides operational leadership and strategic guidance as the distillery expands its reach and deepens its commitment to social responsibility, supporting initiatives like PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and Homeboy Industries through the “Distill. Drink. Donate.” program.
