The Marigny

Founded in 2015 by Andrew Young, The Marigny is based in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where Andrew crafts expressive, unmanipulated wines that reflect the character of their sites. A former musician who came to winemaking through hands-on experience rather than formal training, he brings an intuitive, detail-driven approach that favors feel over formula. The winery’s name nods to Faubourg Marigny, a historic, musically rich neighborhood in New Orleans where he once lived — a reminder that wine, like music, is about connection, rhythm, and place.

The Marigny sources fruit from organically farmed vineyards across the Valley, working closely with growers who share a commitment to soil health and low-input farming. In the cellar, Andrew keeps the process simple and transparent: native fermentations, limited sulfur, and gentle handling that preserves texture and energy. The goal is not to chase polish but to honor the raw material and the growing season that shaped it.

In recent years, Young has expanded his vision with Super Deluxe, a small-lot project highlighting individual sites and varieties through more structured, contemplative expressions. Wines like the Super Deluxe Auxerrois and Super Deluxe Pinot Gris show a new level of depth and nuance — still unmistakably The Marigny in spirit, but with an added layer of precision and intent. Across all his projects, Andrew’s wines trace his evolution as a winemaker: from instinctive and raw to precise and enduring, all while keeping authenticity at the core.
