La Torre alle Tolfe
Just outside Siena, La Torre alle Tolfe is an estate where history and agriculture have been intertwined for more than 700 years, with the first written records of wine production dating back to 1316. The property has been owned by the Castelli family since 1953, and today is led by third-generation steward Mania Castelli, who returned to the estate after a career as a veterinarian in England to continue her family's work.
Spread across vineyards, olive groves, forests, gardens, and farmland, La Torre alle Tolfe represents the traditional Tuscan idea of a complete agricultural estate, producing wine alongside olive oil and other farm products. Working with winemaker Giacomo Mastretta, Mania focuses on expressing the character of these historic hills through wines that feel both rooted in tradition and distinctly personal.
