Domaine Bobinet

Domaine Bobinet is a small but inventive natural wine estate in Saumur, led by Sébastien Bobinet and Émeline Calvez. Sébastien grew up exploring his grandparents’ vineyards and cellar, learning the rhythms of the Loire from an early age. After detours into wine labs and glassmaking, he returned home with a vision: to make wines that are expressive, lively, and true to their terroir. In 2012, Émeline, a former dancer turned sommelier, joined him, bringing her energy, curiosity, and love for experimentation. Together, they manage about 12 acres of vines on tuffeau, the local Loire limestone, which imparts freshness and finesse to every bottle.

Fermentations are spontaneous, wines are left unfiltered, and sulfur is used sparingly. They experiment thoughtfully with varietal blends, barrel treatments, and skin contact, allowing each vintage to reveal its own story. Even small or experimental lots are given careful attention, resulting in wines with energy, character, and a distinct sense of place.

New vintages are in! Poil de Lièvre Blanc is a Chenin Blanc with notes of meadow flowers, apple, pear, and almond, balanced by a round mouthfeel and lively minerality. Californie, created exclusively for California, is a charming and chillable blend of Chenin Blanc, Pineau d’Aunis, and Cabernet Franc, light and spicy with bright red fruit notes. Domaine Bobinet’s wines invite you to taste freely, embrace surprises, and enjoy the Loire at its most creative, fun, and unpredictable form.
