2021 Marvla Tindo 'Próza' 750ml
It starts soft, then gathers energy in the glass, staying bright and juicy. Cinnamon and apple pie on the nose lead to honied apple, nutmeg and peach over a bright mineral frame. The feel is lively, with just enough weight to make the spice glow, never sweet and never heavy.
Martin Danielič and Vlado Kuny bring together Welschriesling, Riesling, Pesecká Leánka and Tramín from volcanic tuff around Levice. Near the end of fermentation they fold in a small measure of Tramín that rested the previous year in local oak, to layer aroma and give the finish its clean line. A Slovak original that sets warm spice against refreshing clarity.

- grapes and proportions: Ryzlink vlašský 40 percent, Riesling 30 percent, Pesecká Leánka 20 percent, Tramín 10 percent. maceration: brief skin contact for a few hours, then pressed. fermentation: native yeast in stainless steel, with Tramín from the previous vintage that had aged in Štiavnica oak added near the end of fermentation. aging: on the spent yeast in stainless steel and used Slovak oak barrels. fining and filtration: none. alcohol: 12 percent.
